Privacy Policy

The short version
Bercigo doesn't require an account, doesn't build a profile of you, and doesn't sell your data. Files you upload to a tool are processed to produce your result and are not kept afterward. That's the summary — the rest of this page explains it in more detail, including the parts required by law (like how ads and analytics work) that a plain summary can't fully cover.
Files you upload to a tool
When you use a tool that takes a file — a PDF, an image, an audio clip — it's sent to our server, processed in memory to produce your result, and then discarded. We don't save a copy, and we don't look at the contents beyond what's needed to run the tool you asked for. A small number of tools (listed on their own pages) process files entirely in your browser instead, meaning the file never leaves your device at all.
Information stored only on your device
Some tools — game scores, a daily trivia streak, a PTO tracker — save their data using your browser's local storage so it's there next time you visit. This data stays on your own device; it is never sent to our servers, and we have no access to it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Server logs
Like effectively every website, our server automatically logs basic technical information for each request — your IP address, the page or tool requested, and the time. This is standard practice for security and diagnosing problems, not for tracking individuals. These logs are not linked to any personal profile and are periodically cleared.
Advertising
Bercigo may show ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This is Google's own data collection, governed by Google's own privacy policy — we don't control it and don't receive the underlying data ourselves. You can see and adjust how Google personalizes ads for you at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of personalized advertising more broadly at aboutads.info.
Analytics
We may use an analytics service (such as Google Analytics) to understand overall site usage — which pages and tools are popular, roughly where visitors come from — in aggregate. This helps us decide what to build next. It is not used to identify you personally.
Third-party links
Some pages link to outside sites (a source we cited, a product mentioned in a guide). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.
Children
Bercigo isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
